  • 5-star Island Resort in the Caribbean
    • Working for the prospect owner of the island, SCMC developed the initial concept for a 5-star resort
    • After testing the viability of the project with a first market demand and feasibility study, supported by detailed financial viability assessment, SCMC engaged and managed designers and master planners to further develop the resort idea, which was subsequently confirmed with specialized 3rd party consultants
    • SCMC also negotiated improved offer terms with Government
  • Greenfield hospitality development, Montenegro
    • SCMC was tasked to analyze the viability of a residential / hospitality investment on the Adriatic Sea coast
    • SCMC took on the role of project manager, engaged a number of local and international sub-consultants to identify the optimal product mix
    • To complement the review of risks and opportunities associated with the project, the team engaged with the local authorities to identify planning constraints
    • The team carried out a full comparison of different scenarios and the associated returns
  • Retail and F&B beachfront development, Morocco
    • SCMC was retained by a consortium to develop a beachfront close to one of the major Moroccan cities
    • The team developed concept and design brief, before handing it over to a master planner for detailed design
    • SCMC managed a specialized 3rd party consultant for the determination of the Retail mix, and modelled the project financials under different scenarios
    • On behalf of the consortium, SCMC also engaged with the local authorities to develop a joint work plan, which included allocation of roles and responsibilities
  • Agri-business commercial and ops turnaround plan, Morocco
    • SCMC was retained to review an existing manufacturer of edible oils, table olives, pickled vegetables for a potential acquisition
    • SCMC analyzed product range and supply chain, supervised a technical survey and quantified the capital needed for new equipment
    • This resulted in a commercial and operation turnaround plan to restore profitability
    • Following the results of the review, SCMC engaged with a local law firm, to develop and execute a Share Purchase Agreement
  • Greenfield high-end residential and hospitality development, UAE
    • SCMC was tasked to analyze the development options for a sea-front plot of land of approx. 1.5m sqm, including 1km sandy beach and an internal lake
    • SCMC developed the initial concept, which was then further detailed in close teamwork with a master planning consultant
    • SCMC was also responsible for the Business Case and defined the zoning requirements to be negotiated with the Authorities and the relevant municipalities
    • The team formulated the financing structure and engaged with the financial institutions to negotiate terms
  • Residential / mixed-use developments, UAE
    • SCMC carried out Highest and Best Use studies for plots in Abu Dhabi and Dubai
    • The team reviewed the UAE Real Estate market, focusing on existing and future supply for commercial, residential and office properties, both at macro (Emirate) and micro (neighborhood) level
    • After an analysis of macro-economical data from the relevant local and global authorities, SCMC forecasted competitive situation and optimal price point for the development segments
    • Working with design firms, these forecast were then translated in design and construction plans
    • In addition, the team supported debt raising and is now coordinating contractors’ activities prior to the launch of the projects
  • Luxury restaurant business plan evaluation and turnaround, US
    • SCMC reviewed the business plan of a US-based global multi-brand restaurant and entertainment Company
    • The 360-degree review included an analysis of the management’s expansion strategy (own outlets vs licensing agreements) and an assessment of true profitability by business line
    • The results of the review included recommendations for the restructure of corporate and governance setup prior to a roll-out plan
    • SCMC developed a Master Franchise Agreement for selected geographies
    • SCMC also supported the management in the definition and implementation of an overhead 30%-cost reduction plan
